Best Practice: Firstgiving on Your Website

It's the inevitable question--how do I support a cause that's important to me if I can't join the annual fundraising walk.  What if there isn't a walk?  As the blog for the Lupus Foundation of America points out, the answer is to make a Firstgiving online fundraising page!

If you work for a nonprofit, no matter how big or how small, it's always a good idea to include your Start Page URL in your website's "ways to help" section.  Remind your supporters of all the benefits fundraising has over straight donations--it tends to raise more money, it spreads the word about your organization, it gets friends involved, etc.  Even better, grab a Firstgiving badge or widget and link directly to your Start Page.
