Fundraising Checklist for Nonprofits

It’s that time of year again!  The last week of December is the biggest week of the year for online charitable giving.  For the occasion, we have compiled a list of helpful articles to make sure you have covered every item on your fundraising checklist.

    • Know the trends.  Read about giving trends so that you can optimize your strategy to get more out of your fundraising campaign.

    • Make sure your email is an attention grabber.  Be direct and captivating.   Come up with a compelling subject line that is specific in what it’s asking.  If you run an animal shelter, a great subject line could be “Help Debbie the Dalmatian find a home for the holidays”.

    • Expand your campaign to social media.  There are numerous ways to broaden your scope on social media.  Read how Facebook Donate Tabs can increase donations to your organization.

    • Show your donors impact.  Donors want to be reminded of several things.  One of those is how their donation will effect change.  Read more about 7 things your last minute donors want.

    • Thank your supporters.  You can be creative or very basic.  Some organizations send videos thanking their supporters, while others send handwritten notes.  Whatever you choose to do, show your appreciation for your donors’ support.

We hope that these guidelines are helpful to you as you execute your year-end fundraising appeals.
